Apple fined $1.2 million for misleading customers in Italy

“Italy’s anti-trust body has fined units of U.S. technology group Apple Inc a total of 900,000 euros ($1.2M) for failing to adequately inform customers about their rights to product guarantees and assistance.”
So apparently Apple Sales International and Apple Retail Italia did not properly inform customers that they were entitled to two years of free assistance under Italian law. This is mainly related to the “Applecare Protection Plan”, the sales department did not clearly identify to the customers that the protection plan overlaps with free assistance that is required by Italian Law.In addition to the above, Apple is still facing a different investigation by European Courts regarding price-fixing with e-book publishers.  This investigation is highlighting  anti-competitive practices of Apple in the european market.Apple seems to have a full plate of overseas problems that range from price-fixing to unfair use of intellectual property rights.  Give us your two cents on the matter in the comments below.
